BYD Atto 3 Electric Car: The Atto 3 electric SUV is BYD’s second product for the Indian market

BYD launched the Atto 3 electric SUV for Rs 33.99 lakh. The Atto 3 was first shown in India on October 11. It is available in a single fully loaded variant. The Atto 3 is available for bookings starting at Rs 50,000. BYD claims that it has already received over 1500 bookings since its debut.

BYD Atto 3, features a pair of slim headlights with LED DRLs that are connected by a full-width light bar. The front bumper looks aggressive and has a silver-colored grille that is completely blanked out. The Atto 3’s sides get blackened wheel arches, and it rides on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The rear also features a full-width, LED light bar. There’s also a spoiler mounted on the roof and huge ‘Build Your Dreams” lettering.

The interior design of the BYD Atto3 is one of its key strengths. The interior features include door-mounted circular speakers, vertical slats for air conditioning vents, and a gear selector that is inspired by yachts.

The interior features a 12.8-inch touchscreen, which rotates on request and supports Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay connectivity. Atto 3 features faux leather seats, eight-speaker sound systems, a wireless charger, a large panoramic sunroof, an eight-speaker sound system, and a 5-inch digital instrument cluster.

The Atto 3 comes standard with ADAS, a 360-degree camera, ABS and ESC. There are also seven airbags.

The BYD Atto 3 is powered by a Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor (front axle) that produces 198 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. The motor is powered by a 60.48kWh lithium-ion battery that has an ARAI-tested range of 521 km.

Atto 3 has an 80kW DC fast-charging capability (0 to 80 percent within 50 minutes), and it comes standard with a 7kW home charger (10 hours full charge) and a 3kW mobile charging box (3kW). BYD claims the Atto 3 can run from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds.

Atto 3 has a ‘Vehicle to Load’ function that produces a power output power of 3.3kW. This allows external electrical appliances to be powered by the battery pack.

The BYD Atto 3, priced at Rs 33.99 lakh, ex-showroom, India is the most expensive car within its category. The Atto 3 is nearly seven lakh higher than the MG ZS EV or Hyundai Kona, which are priced at Rs 26.6 lakh and 24.03 lakh, respectively. The Atto 3 has a unique interior and features, as well as a claimed 70km longer range.
